Introducing E/ARTHWORKS, a collective that focuses on collective learning of past African approaches to architecture and design, which would be used to redefine and rehabilitate common practice norms and outside perceptions of African ingenuity.
Earthworks emerged from a shared feeling of responsibility for and interest in African architecture and identity. We noticed that the rich architectural history which embodies societal values are known to only few people, which is why few spaces that represent them still exist. This compelled us to create opportunities for people to learn about African design methods in the built environment. Which is something that we personally lacked in our education.
